On Monday, August 31st 2015, OLC attended App Circus Fitness & Health Summer of Apps festival at Google’s office in San Francisco. A handful of select apps were given the opportunity to pitch their app to a panel of judges and get real-time feedback from the judges about their app and business model.
Galf is a realtime app to use with your friends to share your current stats and score. This allows you to know how important the next few holes are. It also builds up your personal profile so you can track your stats over time and watch your game improve.
Man Cave is an app that allows people to find a place to watch your favorite sports teams with other fans. The app allows you to meet new people and enjoy your game by hanging out with other fans of the same team. You can find a local bar, restaurant or host it at your own house.
Couch to 5K
Couch to 5K is all about setting goals giving the end user a sense of urgency and obtaining goals. The app has it’s own proprietary workout program and has the user work out for 30 minutes a day 3 times a week. It can be hard to have the motivation to workout alone. The app uses a virtual trainer and in app notifications to keep the user coming back.
Stats should not only be for pros. Tennyx is an app that links up with current smartphone technology to feed you back stats about your game. It’s currently available for iOS and the Apple watch. When you wear the watch you get more data as it collects more data such as heart rate and information about your sweat.
goFlow is an app dedicated to surfers. There are other tools out there that show you the weather, status of the waves but all the tools are outdated and not user friendly. GoFlow attempts to solve this issue by combining all this data in an up to date user friendly app.
Bridgefy is an app that allows you to communicate with your friends in times where there is low or no data. If you’re an outdoor enthusiast you should know that data is not available when out camping or hiking. Instead of having to have another device to do this for you, you can use the bridgefy app to communicate with your friends who are within 180 feet.
Golfer is a multi purpose app that focuses on all aspects of your golf game. You can use your phone to order on demand food for when you’re on the golf course. They also have sensors inside most of the holes in US golf courses so when you’re about to hit the ball you can open the app and know your exact distance from your current position to hole.
Rungo is an app that focuses on letting you find and explore new running routes when you’re in a different city. It will give you routes that keep you out of rough neighborhoods. You can now also listen to a guided tour while on your run. You can also create and share your own custom routes with the Rungo community.
