On Wednesday, December 3rd, OLC attended Venture Out New York’s “Hackers & Hefeweizens” gathering the best and brightest German innovators in the startup sphere to meet investors and learn best practices for innovation in New York City.
Select German Founders and CEOs were chosen for a week visit to startups and investor partners in New York City as well as opportunities to pitch as was the case this evening. The event took place at WeWork Charging Bull in the Financial District located at 25 Broadway, New York City in partnership with the German American Chamber of Commerce New York (GACCNY) and their upcoming STEP NYC Startup Entrepreneurship Program in 2015.
The evening’s investor panel included Paul Cianciolo, VP of FirstMark Capital, Angela Lee, Founder of 37 Angels, and Jonathan Drillings, Senior Associate of Comcast Ventures. 14 German startups pitched their latest innovations receiving feedback and advice from investor panelists. These include Co-founder Michael Tal of BusyLamp, Founder Andreas Dollmayer of YouPublish GmbH, Co-Founder Jens Schmelze of Simple Show, Founder Bernd Pohl of Testfabrik, Founder Alessandro Quaranta of Okinlab, CEO Thomas Poschen of Mauz und Wauz, Simon Ullrich of Smarttra.de, Founder Nikolai Ensslen of Synapticon, Managing Director Eugen Barteska of b-interaktive, Founder Thomas Jajeh of twago, Managing Director Jakob Futorjanski of NeuroNation, CEO Sebastian Denef of uberblik, CEO Christian Marchsreiter of Smashdocs, and Owner and CEO Gabriel Benz of FSC.
