February 25th, 2014 Innovators demo at Queens Tech


On Tuesday, February 25th, OLC attended Queens Tech Meetup held at Hunter’s Point Plaza, 10th floor Event Space in Long Island City. The evening featured presentations by 5 startups including RapGenius, Vengo, Confide, Style Scan, and TribeReminder. The evening was co-organized by Aaron Christopher Cohen, Dave Yang and Jukay Hsu. At the end of demos, the moderator opened up the floor to Q&A and audience feedback. Below is a quick rundown of the startups and founders presenting.

Co-founders Mahbod Moghadam, Tom Lehman and Ilan Zechory describe RapGenius as “the brain we all share.” It is a site that demystifies rap lyrics through annotation and interpretation of lyrics, now also available as a native mobile app.

Vengo (http://vengolabs.com)
Brian Shimmerlik is a Co-founder of Vengo where they build miniature vending machines across New York offering a digital media platform with point-of-purchase. 

Confide (http://getconfide.com)

Style Scan (http://stylescan.co)
StyleScan allows you to share the latest trends in fashion. A distinctive feature is a bar code scanner allowing users to style recommendations as they shop. 

TribeReminder helps you stay in touch with your most important contacts.
