Grovo Expands, Leases Loft Space on 19th Street in Gramercy Park

Grovo, an an online training and education platform that helps people find and use websites, has recently signed a lease for the entire 7th Floor at 29 East 19th Street.  Grovo signed a lease for 5,500 square feet.  29 East 19th Street is a boutique, eight-story, 48,500 square foot office property constructed in 1924 and currently owned by the S. Axelrod Company.

Grovo is a website designed to help individuals and businesses use and discover today's leading websites via video based, action-oriented learning.  Grovo’s users include: businesses (to get more customers and train their staffs), educators (to bring the Web into the classroom), individuals (to learn about a wide range of consumer sites and applications) and websites (to educate users and provide customer support).  The name "Grovo" is a fun blend of two words: "grow" and "vocation." Grovo's mission is to help people pursue their callings by way of the Internet, to "grow" their "vocations" online.

Grovo was founded in 2010 by Jeff Fernandez, Surag Mungekar and Nick Narodny.  Grovo was represented by OLC’s Jack Petrie.  This transaction shows the continued viability of the Gramercy Park/Flatiron submarkets as a community/destination for NYC’s burgeoning technology sector.  The area now boasts OLC clients First Round Capital, Peak Network, Red 3 Consulting, Slacker, Spanfeller Media Group and many other firms, in addition to Grovo.
