On Thursday, July 17, OLC attended “The Future of Mobile.” Held at NYU’s Kimmel Center at Rosenthal Pavillion at 60 Washington Square South, New York City. Tech in Motion New York held an engaging panel including Ryan Johnson, VP of Mobile Engineering at Buzzfeed, Manny Elawar, Blackberry Developer Evangelist at Blackberry, Charles Schulze, Principal Engineer at Yahoo!, Henry Kirk, Senior iOS Developer at Audible, Lee Edwards, Engineering Manager at Groupon, led by moderator Kaja Whitehouse, Technology Editor at The New York Post. The evening was made possible by Microsoft and Blackberry.
The esteemed panelists (one of whom can solve a Rubik’s cube in less than a minute), engaged in discussions around future trends for “all things mobile.” Various conversations highlighted the growing proliferation of wearables and the ubiquity of mobile connectivity as underlying themes from the panelists. Other topics raised included ease of connectivity, consumption and security as mobile phones become extensions of our everyday.
