May 20th, 2014 NYC's Hottest Mobile Social Apps

On Tuesday, May 20th, OLC attended “Startup Demo Night Series #24 – Mobile Social Apps” held at the offices of Chadbourne & Park in New York City. Organized by the New York Entrepreneurs Business Network, the event was moderated by Andrew Wong, Founder of NYEBN and was hosted by Lori Hoberman, Chair of the Emerging Companies/Venture Capital practice. Nine startups presented at the showcase with a panel of judges offering feedback. Judges included Guarav Jain of Founder Collective, Alicia Syrette of Pantegrion Capital, Zachary Aarons of Millenium Partners, Lou Kerner of and Lori Hoberman of Chadbourne & Parke. The evening sponsors included Red Bull, Spots NYC, SourcePad and FreezeCrowd. Below is a brief rundown of the startups presenting.

Shindig (

Harry Raymound is the Co-Founder & CEO at Shindig, allowing multi screen video chat events take place with multiple conversations.

Toplist (

Pablo Rivera is the Co-Founder & CEO at Toplist, a mobile app that sends you shopping recommendations by seeing the products your friends love.

Calvin (

Nicholas Sonnenberg is the Founder & CEO of Clavin, a productivity app that allows you to make more plans, by planning less. 

HyperTV (

Claudio Vaccarella is the Founder & CEO of HyperTV, a publishing platform allowing content creators to create self-service mobile apps that are highly adaptable to the viewers characteristics and context. 

Preo (

Richard Liang is the Founder & CEO at Preo, a mobile app that allows you to pay for a drink directly from your mobile phone.

Parrable (

Carla Holtze is the Co-Founder & CEO at Parrable, a proprietary platform for collecting and managing consumer data on mobile across publishers. 

SocialEffort (

Danielle Leong is the Co-Founder & CEO at SocialEffort, allows charities, non profits, and businesses to integrate volunteering into lifestyles through time-fencing, volunteer management and metrics/reports.

Parlor (

Joel Schwartz is the Founder & CEO at Parlor, the first social talking network.
