On Thursday, May 8th, OLC attended a fireside chat with MIT Professor “Sandy” Pentland and author Stephen Baker convening on the topic Social Physics: How Social Networks Can Make Us Smarter” held at Chadbourne & Park LLP, at 30 Rockefeller Plaza. The evening was made possible by The MIT Enterprise Forum of New York City.

The discussion was moderated by Stephen L. Baker, American Journalist, author and blogger, and Alex “Sandy” Pentland, Toshiba Professor of Media Arts and Sciences, and Director of the Media Lab Entrepreneurship Program, and Director of the Media Lab Human Dynamics Laboratory, Pentland spoke on the changing dynamics we are facing in an increasingly digital world led by social networks. Discussion took place around how social networks and diversity might make us smarter, and important issues around privacy and security.
