November 12th, 2014 Huge: Digital Kids and Futures

On Wednesday, the 12th of November, 2014, OLC attended a panel of digital kids exploring the ways in which today’s digital youth interact and play with technology in their everyday lives. The event took place at the offices of Huge located at 45 Main Street, Brooklyn, New York.

Moderated by Huge Ideas’ Marissa Gluck, she interviewed a panel of tiny experts and happy kids sharing their personal digital experiences. Two rooms were filled to the max listening intently to a panel of youngsters with their feet dangling from their chairs. As Millenials grow older, digital kids are pioneering our digital futures. Conclusions? The human condition hasn’t changed much. Today’s youth use tools like Skype and Facetime so that they may keep in touch with their distant grandparents regularly. When it comes to their friends however, they still prefer to hang out in person.

The evening closed with the question, “What do you want to do when you grow up?” While most responded traditionally with doctor and engineer, one memorable boy answered to a roomful of chuckles, “A lazy guy on the couch.”

Stay tuned, Millenials.
